If you know me, you know I love Seattle! I live very close, but it has been awhile since I’ve visited and I’ve been missing it.
My nostalgia led me to create this Painting of Pike Place, Seattle from a picture I took while traveling. The Canvas panels are 5x7, which is kind of an adorable size!
I took a few liberties to make the painting more unique; for example, the original picture was taken in cloudy and gray weather. I made the sky bluer and added some stars, along with adjusting the contrast and colors to make it a night scene.
The first painting sold really quickly, and two other people asked if I could paint one for them. The nice thing about small paintings is that they’re really easy to recreate!
So now I’ve made three and counting of the painting. I’ve noticed that my lines are getting a little less accurate, so if I end up making another I’ll be working on my angles.
Time lapse videos of the most recent painting here are on my instagram @emmalynbenn.
